Visit us at Hillsboro Farmer's Markets

This year is our very first year bringing our plants out to local farmer's markets here in Hillsboro. We've been going out to both the downtown Hillsboro and the Orenco Station markets and our plants have gotten a lot of interest from marketgoers. And the downtown market is just five minutes from our nursery... How much more local can you get?

What do we bring? We take mostly smaller items such as dwarf conifers and smaller maples, but we also usually bring out a few larger trees - whatever is showing some color and seasonal interest. We have some smaller evergreens such as variegated euonymus, a few blooming perennials like siberian irises, daylilies, or threadleaf coreopsis, and plenty of maples.

Japanese maples and dwarf conifers make up the bulk of the plants we bring to market. Blooming daylilies, flowering kousa dogwoods, and weeping goldechain add touches of color on a beautiful summer morning.

Our best sellers are our 1 gallon Japanese maples, which are only $10 each. We have many different varieties of these, so there's always something for everyone, whether they prefer the unique growth habit of 'Shishigashira,' the "Lion's Head" maple, the variegated leaves of 'Butterfly,' the deep purple of varieties like 'Trompenberg,' 'Red Emperor,' or 'Whitney Red,' or the small and spreading weeping laceleaf maples.

We've practically sold out of our 1 gallon Eskimo Sunset sycamore maples, whose variegated pink leaves stop people in their tracks (we still have plenty in larger sizes).

Marketgoers also love our fullmoon maples, especially the 'Autumn Moon' with its bright blend of yellows, oranges, and pinks.

We only have a couple more market dates scheduled for now: We'll be at the downtown Hillsboro market on Saturday, June 26 (market hours are 8:00 to 1:30) and the Orenco Station market on Sunday, June 27 (market open from 10:00 to 2:00). If you've got some time and you're in the area, come out and visit us.

Welcome to our blog!

There are always many changes going on at our nursery, whether it is the changing colors of our trees from spring to summer to fall, the types of birds and wildlife that live in or pass through our farm, or what we're up to in our business. Our blog is a place where we can keep you updated on all of these changes, while also providing valuable information about unique and interesting cultivars, gardening tips and advice, and how you can get a hold of some of our plants.

While we are first and foremost a wholesale nursery, we recognize the economic and environmental importance of encouraging local business. Therefore, we are slowly working to make our products more accessible to local customers, including the many homeowners, landscapers, and plant lovers in our area.

This blog is a place where you can find more information about our plants and how you can get them for your garden. We will keep you up-to-date on current specials available to the public, dates and hours we are open for visits, and everything else that is going on at our nursery. We hope you will bookmark our page, keep checking back for new posts and photos, and maybe even call us to set up a time to come visit our nursery.
